AEW producer is anticipating Dustin Rhodes to lift the World Championship, following his father and brother’s footsteps. Dustin Rhodes’s connection with AEW comes from the inception, where he encountered his sibling, Cody, at Double or Nothing 2019 in a celebrated and brutal contest.
Ray Lloyd, famously known as Glacier and currently an AEW producer, recently shed light on this topic on the “UnSKripted” podcast. He was questioned on the probable World Title run for Rhodes, and he responded,
“The short answer is I certainly hope so. Yes, I do believe that. It’s in his blood. It’s in his blood to be a competitor. It’s part of that Rhodes tradition. But that being said, I think he is in a really good place as far as his position as a wrestler right now in AEW because, just from what I see, he really does embrace that role of being a mentor and a locker-room veteran.”
Glacier further added, ““There’s a lot of talent that look up to him and come to him for advice, which is gratifying. He indeed seems prepared to seize the opportunity. If deemed suitable to elevate him for a championship run, I believe he is completely prepared and up for it.”
Dustin is a reigning ROH World Tag Team Champion with his partner Sammy Guevara and holds one-third of the ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions with The Von Erichs.
As Dustin crosses the age of 55, he might be running out of time for a potential World Championship journey. However, Dustin is not only sticking to his wrestling career, but he has also taken the entrepreneurial path, launching his own wrestling promotion.
