Morale within AEW has improved significantly following the recent release of CM Punk, it has been claimed.
Punk was released last week following a week-long investigation into what transpired backstage with Jack Perry at AEW All In.
In the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter” it is reported that sources in AEW “talked about the backstage atmosphere as if a dark cloud had been lifted” after Punk’s release.
Sources also spoke about how fun things felt and the morale rising during last week’s Collision, the first post-Punk event, and at AEW All Out the next day.
The report adds that at least three AEW wrestlers are said to be “very upset” about how things have transpired.
While the report doesn’t name these wrestlers, it is stated that Brody King was frustrated about what happened at All In and is said to be a Punk supporter.
For his role in the backstage altercation, Jack Perry has been indefinitely suspended and has not been at any AEW shows since All In.
