AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash Barely Outdraws NXT New Year’s Evil
News coverage of an attempted coup in the United States Capitol building by American terrorists resulted in lower than expected viewership for both NXT and All Elite Wrestling this week.
AEW Dynamite drew 662,000 viewers overall for its New Year’s Smash Night 1 special, which is significantly down from last week’s 977,000. The show also drew just a .25 rating in people 18-49 (down from a .40 last week).
Per Pro Wrestling Torch, NXT viewership was up to 641,000 viewers (from 586,000) for New Year’s Evil and came in with a .16 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It drew a .12 rating last week.
