AEW Dynamite Empty Arena Tapings Continuing Through May 13
In a Twitter thread sent out this morning, All Elite Wrestling has preemptively canceled four more Dynamite tapings scheduled for April 22-May 13 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Fans in Philadelphia, Houston, New Orleans, and Albuquerque can attend rescheduled tapings starting in July or receive refunds for their tickets. As is the plan going forward, Dynamite through May 13 will be taped in closed sets with essential personnel only.
Until further notice, live episodes of DYNAMITE will be produced at closed set locations with essential personnel only.
The DYNAMITE show in Philadelphia will be rescheduled for Wednesday, July 29, at the Liacouras Center.— All Elite Wrestling (@AEWrestling) March 23, 2020
Last week’s Dynamite was the first empty arena show for the company, featuring wrestlers in the audience and an altered hard camera to minimize the inherent awkwardness of running wrestling in front of empty seats. Unless plans rapidly shift (which is a very real possibility in times like this), we will see similar TV produced through the middle of May at the very least.
