On Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting made his entrance from the rafters during the main event segment where he saved Ric Flair and Darby Allin from an attack by the Young Bucks.

As many of you know, an entrance from the rafters is controversial due to Owen Hart’s tragic passing at Over the Edge 1999.

According to a report from Fightful Select, AEW and Tony Khan reached out to Martha Hart while preparing for the spot to ask if she’d be okay with it taking place. It is said that Hart “gave her blessing” for it to happen.

In other AEW news, Roderick Strong recently appeared on the “Insight” podcast to discuss a variety of topics, including being heavily involved in the “Devil” storyline between Adam Cole and MJF. Strong loved the storyline, saying,

“I loved it. Obviously, that whole situation was so big for my career. The opportunity to not have to wrestle my way to get people’s attention the whole time, that was fantastic. To be able to work with Adam, that’s my dude. My favorite parts of my career are with him. Out of it, to create an opportunity for Matt and Mike and Wardlow, that’s super cool. Matt and Mike really haven’t had an opportunity to do anything like that or get that kind of attention on that kind of level.”

He continued, “There was so much good that came from it and it’s one of those things that I feel was very necessary for my career and all the guys involved, and I think this next year is going to shape up to be the best one.”

Roderick Strong vs. Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship will be taking place at Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event.

Sting Makes Controversial Entrance on AEW Dynamite

On the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, wrestling legend Sting made a dramatic entrance from the rafters during the main event segment. This entrance has stirred up controversy due to the tragic passing of Owen Hart during a similar stunt in 1999.

During the main event, Sting came to the rescue of Ric Flair and Darby Allin, who were being attacked by the Young Bucks. The entrance from the rafters was reminiscent of Sting’s iconic moments in WCW, where he would descend from above to save his allies or confront his enemies.

However, the use of this entrance method has been a sensitive topic in the wrestling community ever since Owen Hart’s tragic accident at the Over the Edge pay-per-view in 1999. Hart, who was performing as his alter ego “The Blue Blazer,” fell to his death when a stunt involving a harness malfunctioned.

Given the history and sensitivity surrounding this type of entrance, AEW and its president Tony Khan took precautions before executing the spot. According to reports from Fightful Select, they reached out to Martha Hart, Owen Hart’s widow, to seek her approval for Sting’s entrance. It is reported that Martha Hart “gave her blessing” for the spot to take place.

This gesture shows AEW’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its performers while also respecting the legacy of Owen Hart. By seeking permission from Martha Hart, AEW demonstrated their understanding of the impact such an entrance can have on both performers and fans.

In other AEW news, Roderick Strong, a prominent wrestler in the company, recently appeared on the “Insight” podcast to discuss various topics, including his involvement in the “Devil” storyline between Adam Cole and MJF. Strong expressed his enthusiasm for the storyline, highlighting its significance in his career.

Strong mentioned that the storyline provided him with an opportunity to gain attention without solely relying on his in-ring performances. Working alongside Adam Cole, Strong’s longtime friend and colleague, was a highlight for him. Additionally, the storyline allowed other wrestlers like Matt and Mike and Wardlow to shine and receive attention on a grand scale.

Looking ahead, Strong believes that the “Devil” storyline and the opportunities it created will shape the upcoming year to be the best one yet for him and his fellow wrestlers involved.

In an exciting development, Roderick Strong will be facing Orange Cassidy for the AEW International Championship at the upcoming AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event. This match promises to be a thrilling encounter between two talented competitors vying for championship gold.

As AEW continues to push boundaries and create compelling storylines, it is crucial for the promotion to balance innovation with sensitivity. By seeking approval from Martha Hart for Sting’s entrance and providing opportunities for wrestlers like Roderick Strong, AEW demonstrates its commitment to both safety and creative excellence.
