AEW: Cody Rhodes Not Cleared To Compete Due To Injuries Sustained At Full Gear
All Elite Wrestling just posted a new medical update on Cody Rhodes as well as a better look at the cut above his eyebrow that busted him open at Full Gear.
According to the post, Cody ended up with eight stitches and a ‘costochondral separation’ and noted that he is not cleared for in-ring action at this time. Cody ended up with a bloodied forehead after a dive onto the entrance ramp went wrong and he landed face-first on the diamond plate steel covering. A costochondral separation is also referred to as a rib separation, where one or more ribs separate from the costochondral joint on the breastbone.
Cody was able to finish the match despite the lasceration, but it was MJF that would end up costing “The American Nightmare” a title win after turning on him. MJF threw in the towel and apologized profusely before turning on his mentor and showing his true colors.

During last night’s post-show media scrum, Tony Khan was asked about the AEW World Title match being allowed to continue after seeing the cut above Cody’s eye. He explained that their ringside doc deemed Cody OK to finish the match and that they sent the doctor out immediately to check on his status.
