Fightful Select has recently divulged information about the journey of WWE NXT star Stephanie Vaquer after she made her in-ring debut in the previous week’s episode.

On a live CW broadcast on a Tuesday night, Vaquer triumphed over Wren Sinclair with a notable victory.

Inside sources from AEW declared that Vaquer left a commendable and beneficial impression with her wrestling match versus Mercedes Mone during the AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door 2024. However, it was soon after the event that WWE reached out to her, indicating her intention to align with them.

The signing of Vaquer’s contract with WWE caught many by surprise due to its abruptness.

A number of AEW insiders expressed their understanding of WWE’s fascination in securing a talent of high caliber, which AEW was also interested in, but they were baffled by her sudden withdrawal from her CMLL obligations before the title could be relinquished.

At the moment of her engagement with WWE, Vaquer was the reigning champion of both the CMLL World Women’s and World Women’s Tag Team Championships. Subsequent to her exit from CMLL and her signing with WWE, she was relieved of both her titles.

The report suggests that various performances by Vaquer in several of WWE’s recent live spectacles in Mexico played a part in mollifying the disapproval regarding WWE’s decision to abruptly end her mandated appearances for CMLL following her association with WWE.

Furthermore, Stephanie Vaquer appears to be in good favour with WWE officials who are quite pleased with her, and she reportedly has a positive outlook on her NXT experience so far.

Some affiliates of NJPW and AEW feel that talents participating in paradigm-shifting events like Forbidden Door or other sponsored events by AEW, might need to ratify an agreement that disallows them from immediately moving onto WWE, or at least mandates them to be under a specific type of contract instead of striking a separate deal.
