MJF opened the AEW Dynamite episode of June 5, 2024, with some serious criticisms about Will Ospreay (and numerous others). However, before these two can settle the score, the International Championship is set to be defended next week, with another contender getting an opportunity to seize the title.

A four-way match saw Rey Fenix triumphing over Jay Lethal, Kyle O’Reilly, and Orange Cassidy. Winning this match has landed Fenix with a chance to face Ospreay at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa next week.

In a tweet from Tony Khan, it was confirmed: “Next Wednesday, 6/12. Des Moines, IA. Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite. TBS, 8pm ET/7pm CT. AEW International Championship@WillOspreay vs @ReyFenixMx. Next Wednesday on Dynamite, AEW International Champion Will Ospreay will defend the title vs the former champion Rey Fenix live on TBS!”

Next week’s Dynamite show also includes a backstage interaction where Chris Jericho extends an invitation to Private Party for TV Time. This unsurprisingly antagonizes them and indicates a forthcoming feud between Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen versus The Learning Tree (presumably involving Big Bill and “The Bad Apple” Bryan Keith), as reported by AEW officials.

All Elite Wrestling tweeted this snippet: “A branch from the Learning Tree & FTW Champion Chris Jerico has been extended to Private Party! Watch #AEWDynamite LIVE on TBS!@IAmJericho | @ZayKassidy | @Marq_Quen | @TheCaZXL | @bountykeith”.
