Earlier today, eWn announced that WWE host Kayla Braxton publicly disclosed her decision to step down from the company after an eight-year tenure. Her farewell appearance will be during the WWE SmackDown TV tapings scheduled at Madison Square Garden on June 28th.
Per an exclusive from Fightful Select, Braxton’s work with WWE had been taking place contractless, following the expiry of her last arrangement. They had been communicating through an oral agreement in the past few weeks. It must be mentioned that Braxton chose to remove WWE from her social media handles as of June 6. Even though there were continuous negotiations between both parties, they unfortunately didn’t reach a satisfactory conclusion.
Apparently, officials at AEW were informed about the conclusion of her WWE contract just a fortnight ago. As it stands now, there is no confirmation about any ongoing discussions between these two parties.
Braxton started her journey with WWE in 2016 and has held numerous roles, including backstage interviewer, co-host of ‘Talking Smack’ and WWE’s ‘The Bump’, amongst others. She decided to step down from her role as the host of WWE’s ‘The Bump’ in August 2023.
