On the July 3, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, there were three thrilling matches in the 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. We’ll dissect the events to find out who moved forward.
The competition kicked off with Bryan Danielson and PAC putting their skills to test. After an intense match with some swings in power, the victory was clinched by The American Dragon who ended the duel with a crucifix pinfall reversal.
In another face-off, Willow Nightingale defeated former best friend Kris Statlander with a strategic roll-up pinning maneuver. Statlander, with a chain wrapped around her fist provided by Stokely Hathaway, almost hit Stokely, leading to a brief moment of hesitation. This gave Nightingale the chance to secure victory and progress to the finals.
As we look forward to the next week, Nightingale will be squaring off against the winner of the Hikaru Shida vs. Mariah May match set to take place on the upcoming episode of AEW Collision.
In the final showdown, “Hangman” Adam Page emerged as the Wild Card opponent for Jeff Jarrett, a surprise orchestrated by The Young Bucks. Page not only defeated Jarrett in this bout, but also, later on, rejected the invite by the Young Bucks to join the Elite’s team for Blood & Guts.
An angry Page affirmed his independent stand, expressing his disinterest in the Bucks’ games and his solitary aim to seize the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament victory. He officially declined the team spot the Bucks had offered.
Looking forward, Page is slated to compete with Jay White on AEW Collision. The victor will then battle Bryan Danielson in the finals to be held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the Scotiabank Saddledome next week.
