Steven Borden, the son of wrestling veteran Sting, is seriously considering entering the world of professional wrestling. He has been training alongside industry peers like Darby Allin, FTR, and Adam Copeland.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Adam Copeland gave his thoughts about whether Steven has the potential to thrive in the pro wrestling industry, judging by his ongoing intense training. Here are some key takeaways from the interview:
Copeland spoke of Borden’s physicality impressed him and noticed him getting “the itch” for wrestling at a match in Greensboro. “He felt what it is. And once you feel that, it’s hard to go away from that. He’s physically imposing – standing at 6-3, weighing about 230 pounds, and being about eight percent body fat. He also conducts himself well, much like his father, which is a wonderful thing,” he said.
When questioned about Borden’s future in the industry, Copeland replied, “It is really up to him, he needs to determine how much work he wants to put in. He just needs to understand the significant spotlight and added pressures that will come with being Sting’s son in the wrestling world. He’s quite intelligent, and I believe if he really puts in the effort, he could surely succeed.”
In other news, the enduring feud between Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland was brought up during the recent AEW All Out 2024 Media Call. Both wrestlers will face off in a Lights Out Steel Cage match at tonight’s pay-per-view event. Tony Khan, the President of AEW, reflected on the rivalry. “Each of them has been a face, an ambassador, a leader in this company, and they’ve become iconic rivals. The level of violence they’ve inflicted upon each other is indelible. This rivalry will certainly remain in the memory of AEW fans for a long time,” Khan noted.
