During a recent guesting on the podcast “The Takedown”, professional wrestler Adam “Cope” Copeland opened up about his return from injury last year, as well as his journey and experiences in AEW to date.

In a thrilling update, fans learned that Cope will be vying against Jon Moxley for the esteemed AEW World Title during the long-awaited AEW Revolution 2025 event tonight.

Below are some notable excerpts from Cope’s discussion on the podcast:

When reflecting on his AEW stint: “I view everything that has unfolded as a welcome bonus. None of this was expected or guaranteed. The way I see it, it’s all a wonderful addition, like delicious extras sprinkling atop a Sundae. I don’t indulge in melancholy because no one has ever made a comeback from this type of injury before. So, the mere fact that I was able to do that, and then go on to do what I’ve accomplished since, including the amazing opponents I’ve been lucky to compete with and craft narratives with on stage, it’s all a blessing. My appearance at the [Royal] Rumble immediately made me feel victorious the moment I walked out. Everything beyond that has been a delightful surprise.”

Regarding his return from injury last year: “I treated it like a challenge. I refused to let it get me down. Instead, I thought, ‘here we go again. Another operation, more plates, even more screws.’ The last round involved adding another plate and seven more screws. I’ve lost track of the total number of screws, but I believe it’s more than 20 now. It’s just part of the game. Just by being involved, you know you’re not going to come away unscathed. You’re going to get knocked around more times than you can count, especially if you’re striving to be the best you can be. However, that does mean accepting the occasional setback.”
