Adam Copeland, a prominent figure in AEW, is expressing optimism that the upcoming Dynamite event in Asheville will provide considerable relief for those grappling with the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

It’s been months since the hurricane inflicted damage across Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. The devastation is still palpable, with drinking water shortages prevalent in numerous areas.

In a conversation with “The Takedown,” a program on Sports Illustrated, Copeland detailed his thoughts on how the forthcoming Dynamite could serve as a much-needed respite for those affected by the disaster.

Retaining Copeland’s words, he stated,

“Asheville does not typically host wrestling events. NWA had consistent runs in the 1980s, but at some point, it turned into a no-wrestling zone. I’m uncertain if this has shifted, yet coming here seemed to be the right move to extend help to this community.

Entertainment offers solace, whether it’s a TV show, game, live wrestling event, concert – you name it. It has an essential role for people. I believe the pandemic underlined this reality for many.”

Copeland’s family in Asheville was among those impacted, and he disclosed that they have only recently regained access to clean tap water.

The upcoming Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen event will feature Copeland alongside FTR, facing off against the Death Riders, represented by Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli.

Fans of Copeland saw him make a triumphant comeback to the AEW TV screens at the Worlds End event. He had been sidelined since May, after a fractured tibia injury during Double or Nothing.
