Adam Cole – ‘The Respect I’ve Earned Means The World To Me’

During a recent appearance on the Rasslin’ podcast, AEW wrestler Adam Cole shared his thoughts on being recognized as one of the nicest and most genuine people in the wrestling industry.

In his first pay-per-view match in eleven months, Cole defeated Chris Jericho in an unsanctioned match at AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 last weekend.

On the respect he’s earned in the business: “Of course, you want to leave a legacy of having an incredible career, winning world championships, traveling the globe, getting to wrestle on television, and those are all things that I absolutely still want to continue to achieve. But when I think of a legacy, there’s no better one to have than people respecting you as a person, whether it be the audience or your peers and the people that you work with. It means the world to me.”

On being beloved by fans now after being a heel most of his career: “For over ten years I was a real piece of garbage. I guess I got that out. During matches, that’s when I got all my aggression and anger out, and then I tried to be nice to everybody after that.”
