Adam Cole just recently appeared on Wrestling Observer Radio to discuss his history of concussions in 2015.
Cole hasn’t battled AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26, 2002 in the Fatal 4 Way for the IWGP World Heavyweight Title. Prior to that, he suffered a concussion in a match with Samoa Joe at Double Or Nothing.
“I still have a little methods to go till I get to a point where I believe I’m all set to rock-and-roll as far as going to the ring and having a 35-45 minute match,” he stated. “But compared to even 2 in a half to 3 months earlier, I feel great, I feel truly excellent.”
Cole suffered a torn labrum and strained his rotator cuff while heating up for his match with Hangman Page at AEW Revolution in March 2022.
The 2nd concussion throughout the Forbidden Door match in June was much even worse than the one earlier in the year.
“I took a bump where I felt a bit odd, and it wasn’t anybody’s fault, it was a typical bump,” Cole stated of Forbidden Door. “And I keep in mind believing ‘all right, that felt a little unusual’. And about thirty seconds pass, and after that it’s like I have no recollection or memory of what I’m expected to do [or] what took place in the match.”
