In a recent episode of the “Stick To Wrestling” podcast, Adam Cole, a prolific wrestler with All Elite Wrestling (AEW), expressed his deep admiration for former AEW World Champion, Bryan Danielson. He also shared his feelings about sharing the ring with Danielson and his hopes for the future.
Some key takeaways from this podcast episode are presented below:
Regarding his admiration for Bryan Danielson, Cole stated, “Absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt. My respect for Bryan Danielson is immense. Everyone admires Bryan – his popularity, respect and adoration isn’t only limited to the fans, but extends to every wrestler I know. Bryan indisputably stands as an all-time great in wrestling. I have such warm memories of our one-on-one encounter in SmackDown; it was the first time we ever clashed in the ring. For me, it was a dream that came true.”
When asked about his feelings on having the opportunity to face Danielson, Cole continued, “For me, stepping into the ring with Bryan Danielson was a great honour. The thought alone gave me an adrenaline rush; ever since we both debuted the same night in AEW, I longed for the chance to face him again in an AEW ring. However, it seems that won’t happen for the time being, which is disappointing. However, the wellbeing, safety, and reputation of Bryan matters the most.”
Brushing up on the subject of challenging Danielson in the near future, Cole said, “I’m happy that Bryan is taking the time to recover and heal himself after all he has been through. Even though I’d love to challenge Bryan at least one more time, I understand the circumstances. But, as they say, ‘Never say never.’ Maybe one day we can.”
