Adam Cole On Losing To Finn Balor: ‘The Better Man Won Tonight’

Adam Cole and Finn Balor fought tooth and nail against one another for the NXT Championship yesterday evening and while no teeth were extracted throughout the course of the bout, a new champion was crowned. Cole suffered the hard-fought defeat at the hands of his former Bullet Club brother in Balor and post-match, the two shared in a moment of respect for one another. Post-match backstage, Cole was approached to give his thoughts on the loss.
“Well obviously I’m disappointed,” Cole made clear. “That’s not the outcome I wanted, but truth be told the better man won tonight.”
He was then asked to describe the moment of respect shared between the two.
“I do have respect for Finn Balor. I mean considering the fact we both went through the exact same 60 minute Iron Man match last week, went through a grueling match tonight. Finn Balor’s good and he proved tonight he was better than Adam Cole, but Finn Balor better hope that I don’t get another opportunity at the NXT Championship because if I do, the outcome’s going to be a lot different and that is undisputed.”
