Ad-Free Adam Cole vs. Finn Balor Title Match Will Kick Off Wednesday’s NXT

WWE has announced that the NXT Championship match between Adam Cole and Finn Balor will be airing right as NXT comes on the air this Wednesday night. On top of that, the match will be presented commercial-free. Although host Cathy Kelley frames the match as a holiday gift, it’s likely that WWE is looking to kick things into high gear after tying for viewers with Wednesday night rivals AEW in the ratings last week.

Finn competed in a Triple Threat match at the end of last week’s show to earn his opportunity, beating Keith Lee and Tommaso Ciampa. NXT has also lined up a Women’s Title match between longtime champion Shayna Baszler and Rhea Ripley, and we can presume that this match will cap off the show.
On the other channel, AEW has a nontitle bout between Champion Chris Jericho and Jungle Boy, a Tag Team Title match between SCU and The Young Bucks and the promise that Awesome Kong will be in action.
