AEW President Tony Khan recently made it clear in his interview on “The Maggie and Perloff Show” that a collaborative event between AEW and WWE remains unlikely. He stated, “I can’t say ever. Anything could happen at some point. It’s hard to say. What’s the timeline? In the next 100 years, quite possibly.” He went on to share that the likelihood decreases significantly when considering the next five years.
Khan, who has been persistently critical of WWE, has referred to it as the “Harvey Weinstein of professional wrestling”. He also joined the “Busted Open Radio” podcast to explain why he scheduled Ricochet vs. Will Ospreay for the fifth-anniversary episode of Dynamite on October 2.
He explained, “That’s why I think it makes perfect sense with these big stages. We have the greatest roster ever. There is an unlimited supply of huge matches. These are matches that have been building since the people arrived at AEW.”
