A-Kid Calls Being In The NXT UK Heritage Cup ‘A Dream Come True’
A-Kid recently spoke with Kenny McIntosh in an interview for Inside The Ropes. A-Kid discussed the return of NXT UK and reflected on his road to WWE. Here are some highlights:
On the return of NXT UK:
A-Kid: “I think the whole brand is gonna be amazing. Everything going on is fascinating, and obviously the Heritage Cup is right there, and it’s my goal right now.”
On the Heritage Cup:
A-Kid: “When I heard about it, I was just like, I loved it. I remember hearing about the Cruiserweight Classic back in the day, and that was the time that I travelled to the UK for the first time to train, so being part of a tournament like this is a dream come true.”
On following his dream of becoming a WWE superstar:
A-Kid: “To be honest, I never really thought I was gonna be here. I always say it like this. I didn’t want my heart broken, so if I put my sights on WWE, then it was very likely to break my heart because it was impossible for anyone from Spain to be there. But I always wanted to be the best wrestler I could be, so I suppose that’s what led me to be here, and I’m more than happy to be here.”
On facing Ricochet:
A-Kid: “I was about to quit wrestling, so I took it as a last chance. I was like, ‘Alright, if this goes wrong, then let’s just do it, let’s just quit wrestling and focus on math, which I was doing at the moment. But it great, it went amazing, everyone loved it. And it just made me love wrestling again, so I can say that Ricochet reignited that fire in me.”
On facing Kassius Ohno in his debut:
A-Kid: “It was great, again I’m a huge, huge fan of ROH during that time, and yeah, he was one of the ones I watched growing up. So being able to share the ring with him, not only share the ring, but share it in my debut, it made me more and more comfortable than I should be.”
