Those still mourning the tragic loss of longtime Firely Fun House contributor Friendship Frog may be wondering what happened to the last new puppet friend to enter Wyatt’s realm. Wobbly Walrus, who was an animal parody of Pual Heyman, debuted on SmackDown soon after Roman Reigns returned to the blue brand as Heyman’s new protégé. The character seemingly pointed towards an upcoming battle between The Fiend and The Big Dog, but nothing came of it and we could now know why.

As mentioned in the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), there was a planned feud that would have seen Wyatt take revenge for Reigns pinning him and capturing the Universal Title. Instead, Wyatt was moved to RAW and began to target Randy Orton, who burned down the Wyatt compound several years ago. This was done to protect Roman from potentially damaging storylines, as described thusly in the Newsletter:

“There are forces who are working at protecting Reigns from bad booking and the idea that a feud with Wyatt will do him no favors”

Wyatt’s feuds have sometimes been uneven since his reinvention as The Fiend, and there was already some worry amidst WWE fans about shuffling the newly reborn Reigns into a feud with Wyatt before he moved to RAW. It seems that those worries are shared with some backstage, and they could even extend to a feud with current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre considering his ongoing character success. If that is the case, Wyatt may be out of the world title picture on both shows for the immediate future.
