Insights from Bully Ray’s Training of Tama Tonga, Kevin Sullivan’s Praise for Damian Priest, and King/Booker T Collaboration

WWE NXT Superstar Lexis King will be appearing at Booker T’s Reality Of Wrestling ‘No Limits’ event on May 11th.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer himself and the official Reality of Wrestling Twitter account took to Twitter on Thursday to announce the news.

King now joins Axiom, Ivy Nile, Charlie Dempsey and others who have been given permission by WWE to appear for Booker T’s promotion.

Kevin Sullivan has nothing but high praise for WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.

Sullivan, who worked with Priest in Ring of Honor, recently took to his “Tuesday With The Taskmaster” podcast to discuss his friend and his belief that WWE is still just beginning to scratch the surface with the Judgment Day member. He said,

“I was in Ring of Honor for a short time when I had a little group, it was [Priest], Steve Corino, and B.J. [Whitmer]. I told him then, and this had to be three [to] four years ago, I told him, ‘You’re going to be in a main event at WrestleMania someday.’ And if you watched him, he’s very smart in the ring because he’s one of the few guys that can get away with talking in the ring and people don’t even see him when he’s on camera. He directs everything. Like that ladder match, I could see him directing things. He gets rid of the wrong ladder at the right time.”

He continued, “He’s very, very smart business-wise. He’s got a great personality. He works very hard and he trained very hard to become a wrestler. He deserves this, but I think they’re just scratching the surface with him. I’m looking forward to watching his work progress.”

Damian Priest vs. Jey Uso will be taking place at WWE Backlash: France on May 4th.

On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Tama Tonga made his WWE debut by joining Solo Sikoa in attacking Jimmy Uso.

Speaking on a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray recalled training Tonga at his Team 3D wrestling school. He said,

“Haku said he also wanted to be involved in their training, so they trained with me and Devon three days a week at the academy. And then I gave Haku the keys to our school so he could come in on Sundays and work privately with his sons.”

He continued, “I saw a lot in the both of them very, very early on. As a matter of fact, to me, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa they were The Usos before The Usos. As far as a Samoan, Polynesian type of team. I saw them as a modern day SST — Samoan SWAT Team.”
