For the first time ever, WWE’s policy regarding consensual relationships within the company has been revealed. The policy, which was implemented in June 2023, addresses sexual and/or romantic relationships that occur within the workplace.

The three-page document outlines several key points. Firstly, it states that employees are prohibited from engaging in a relationship with someone whom they have a supervisory role over. This rule aims to prevent any potential abuse of power or favoritism within the company.

Additionally, the policy requires employees to report any relationships with other WWE employees to the Human Resources department. This reporting is necessary to address any potential conflicts of interest that may arise from these relationships. By being transparent about their relationships, employees can ensure that their personal connections do not interfere with their professional responsibilities.

Furthermore, the policy discourages relationships with individuals in high positions of authority within WWE, such as the CEO, President, CFO, Chief Content Officer, Chief Legal Officer, or Chief Human Resources Officer. This guideline aims to maintain a level playing field within the company and prevent any perception of favoritism or impropriety.

The implementation of this policy came after WWE Chairman Vince McMahon’s return to the company in January 2023. McMahon had previously stepped down in 2022 following allegations of sexual harassment. The policy serves as a proactive measure to address any potential issues related to workplace relationships and ensure a safe and professional environment for all employees.

Unfortunately, McMahon retired for the second time in January 2024 due to ongoing allegations against him and WWE in Janel Grant’s lawsuit. While his retirement is unrelated to the newly revealed policy, it highlights the importance of addressing and taking action against any misconduct within the company.

The release of WWE’s policy on consensual relationships sheds light on the company’s commitment to maintaining a professional and respectful workplace environment. By setting clear guidelines and encouraging transparency, WWE aims to prevent any potential conflicts of interest or abuses of power. This policy serves as a reminder that even in the world of professional wrestling, it is crucial to prioritize ethics and ensure the well-being of all employees.
