Sean Waltman shares insights on his transformation into the Syxx persona and provides additional updates

Sean Waltman was a recent guest at the “For The Love of Wrestling” convention to take part in a Q&A session.

During the Q&A, the former X-Pac commented on his time working in WCW and taking on his Syxx character.

You can check out some highlights from the Q&A session below:

On his time in WCW: “It was just crazy because it wasn’t as organized, but a lot of times that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing… At least for us, because it was just fun and kind of chaotic… We’d end up going out –- don’t get me wrong, it was frustrating, but ’cause there was a lot of great talent there, we’d all just go out and still end up with great shows somehow. Yeah, it just worked. Like even though sometimes they shouldn’t have, they ended up working.”

On his transition into his Syxx gimmick: “I went from being 1-2-3 Kid, who a lot of people knew, then I go become part of the nWo and it just was a whole different thing. Everybody knew who you were. I was blown away by it.”

Tommy Dreamer says AEW has done a good job with the recent booking of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.

Speaking on Thursday’s episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Dreamer commented on AEW giving Cage and Copeland new phases of their careers, and more.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On AEW giving Cage and Copeland new phases of their careers: “My other praise of AEW is both guys were done. Adam Copeland had an amazing WWE career, an amazing WWE run… I’m sure you could have still seen this in WWE, it just was a much-needed change.”

On where Copeland would have been in WWE: ”If Adam Copeland still stayed in WWE, where would he fit in… If he was still there, he would have turned heel and been a heel against somebody because they were so stacked on babyfaces. But then where does the storyline go? That doesn’t fit for him anymore. So, a great move.”

On WWE’s handling of Cage in 2021: “WWE could have done this. They just chose not to. And Christian was — his return, that same Royal Rumble, Christian showed up. Then it was just like more of a one-off than anything. It proved that he can still go.”

Sean Waltman, also known as X-Pac, recently attended the “For The Love of Wrestling” convention where he participated in a Q&A session. During the session, Waltman shared his thoughts on his time working in WCW and his transition into his Syxx character.

When discussing his time in WCW, Waltman described it as crazy and chaotic but also fun. He mentioned that the organization was not as organized as it could have been, but that didn’t necessarily hinder their ability to put on great shows. Despite the frustrations, Waltman and the talented roster managed to deliver entertaining performances.

Waltman then talked about his transition from being known as the 1-2-3 Kid to becoming part of the nWo and adopting the Syxx gimmick. He expressed his surprise at how quickly people recognized him and knew who he was. This transition allowed him to explore a whole new persona and experience a different level of fame.

In addition to Waltman’s insights, Tommy Dreamer also commented on AEW’s recent booking of Adam Copeland (Edge) and Christian Cage. Dreamer praised AEW for giving these wrestlers new phases of their careers after their successful runs in WWE.

Dreamer acknowledged Copeland’s incredible career in WWE and stated that while WWE could have continued to utilize him, the change was much-needed. He speculated that if Copeland had stayed in WWE, he would have likely turned heel due to the surplus of babyfaces on the roster. However, this wouldn’t have been a fitting storyline for him anymore, making AEW’s decision to give him a fresh start a great move.

Regarding Christian Cage, Dreamer mentioned his return at the Royal Rumble and how WWE didn’t fully capitalize on it. He believed that WWE could have done what AEW is doing with Cage but chose not to. Dreamer emphasized that Cage’s appearance at the Royal Rumble proved that he can still perform at a high level.

Overall, the Q&A session with Sean Waltman and Tommy Dreamer provided interesting insights into their experiences in the wrestling industry. It showcased the excitement and challenges they faced during their careers and shed light on the decisions made by different wrestling promotions.
