WWE Releases Statement and Reveals Corporate Officers Involved in Janel Grant Lawsuit

The “Corporate Officers” in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon & John Laurinaitis have been named.

As we’ve been reporting here on eWn, Grant sued McMahon, Laurinaitis and WWE over allegations that McMahon sexually trafficked and assaulted her. She also says WWE covered up the allegations. The lawsuit has listed two individuals as only “Corporate Officer #1” and “Corporate Officer #2” as having been involved in facilitating and covering up the alleged exploitation.

According to a report from Front Office Sports, the two men are WWE President Nick Khan and WWE COO Brad Blum. Khan is Corporate Officer #1 and Blum is Corporate Officer #2.

When asked for comment on the names, Grant’s attorney said, “I can confirm that these names are correct.”

Additionally, two other unnamed individuals in “Corporate Officer #3” and “Corporate Officer #4” were listed in the lawsuit. Stephanie McMahon is Corporate Officer #3, while former general counsel and WWE NXT legal department head Brian Nurse is Corporate Officer #4.

It’s worth noting that the suit does not explicitly make any claims regarding whether Khan, Blum, Stephanie McMahon, or Nurse were aware of the alleged acts of sexual assault or degradation. McMahon reportedly named Blum and Khan as his “key fixers” and had promised Grant in March of 2019 that his office would arrange a meeting with Blum. At the time, Blum was EVP of Operations. Grant allegedly met with Blum the following week and was “hardly asked any questions.” She was soon hired for a job in the legal department for a $75,000 salary.

McMahon reportedly told Grant in February of 2020 that he had been warned by Blum of “a lot of rumors circulating” about the relationship between McMahon and Grant. At that time, she was immediately transferred to another department. After Grant signed the NDA about the matter, McMahon reportedly told her to contact Blum if she needed anything.

As far as Nick Khan is concerned, he allegedly introduced himself to Grant in March of 2021 and said “he knew exactly who she was.”

WWE issued the following statement on today’s report:

“WWE takes Ms. Grant’s allegations very seriously and has no tolerance for any physical abuse or unwanted physical contact. Neither Nick Khan nor Brad Blum, prior to the lawsuit being filed on January 25, 2024, were aware of any allegation by Ms. Grant that she was the victim of abuse or unwanted physical contact; nor does the complaint allege that either had knowledge of such.”

In a recent development in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis, the “Corporate Officers” involved in the case have been named. Grant has accused McMahon of sexually trafficking and assaulting her, while also alleging that WWE covered up these allegations. The lawsuit has identified two individuals as “Corporate Officer #1” and “Corporate Officer #2,” who were involved in facilitating and concealing the alleged exploitation.

According to a report from Front Office Sports, the two men named as Corporate Officer #1 and Corporate Officer #2 are WWE President Nick Khan and WWE COO Brad Blum, respectively. Grant’s attorney has confirmed the accuracy of these names.

The lawsuit also mentions two other unnamed individuals referred to as “Corporate Officer #3” and “Corporate Officer #4.” Corporate Officer #3 is Stephanie McMahon, while Corporate Officer #4 is Brian Nurse, the former general counsel and head of the WWE NXT legal department.

It is important to note that the lawsuit does not explicitly state whether Khan, Blum, Stephanie McMahon, or Nurse were aware of the alleged acts of sexual assault or degradation. However, McMahon reportedly referred to Blum and Khan as his “key fixers” and promised Grant in March 2019 that his office would arrange a meeting with Blum. Grant claims that during the meeting, she was hardly questioned and was subsequently hired for a job in the legal department with a $75,000 salary.

In February 2020, McMahon allegedly informed Grant that he had been warned by Blum about rumors circulating regarding their relationship. As a result, Grant was immediately transferred to another department. After signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) regarding the matter, McMahon advised her to contact Blum if she needed anything.

Regarding Nick Khan, he reportedly introduced himself to Grant in March 2021 and claimed to know exactly who she was.

In response to the report, WWE issued a statement emphasizing their commitment to taking Grant’s allegations seriously and their zero tolerance for physical abuse or unwanted physical contact. The statement also clarified that neither Khan nor Blum were aware of any allegations made by Grant prior to the lawsuit being filed, nor does the complaint allege that they had knowledge of such allegations.

As the lawsuit progresses, further details and evidence will likely emerge, shedding more light on the allegations and the involvement of the named corporate officers. It is crucial that all parties involved receive a fair and thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.
