On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray discussed Dominik Mysterio and GUNTHER’s match from this week’s episode of WWE RAW, Paul Heyman’s WWE Hall of Fame induction, and more.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On Dominik Mysterio: “Is there anybody getting more boos or generates heat more than Dominik? The kid has become an albatross to The Judgment Day. Gunther is being interviewed, he’s got a little smile on his face, talking about the credibility of his championship … I don’t hate Gunther.”
On his thoughts on GUNTHER: “It’s not like those stupid chops we see in the corner with everybody trying to bastardize the Japanese spot, like the Shotgun Chops in the corner. As much as I love Eddie Kingston, I hate that stupid Shotgun Chop in the corner stuff. It just does not look good.”
On wanting to see GUNTHER win a match with chops: “Gunther can beat you with a chop. Gunther’s chops look good, they sound good, people cringe when they hear a Gunther Chop. You can see the red marks it leaves on somebody’s chest. I would love to see somebody tap out to Gunther’s chops.”
On Heyman’s WWE Hall of Fame induction: “Congratulations to Paul. Extremely well-deserving nomination. Forget about ECW for a second. Let’s take ECW out of the equation because we all know what Paul was able to accomplish with ECW. Let’s just talk about Paul’s body of work as a performer. That alone puts him in the Hall of Fame.”
On the idea of Paul being inducted from the ECW Arena (aka the 2300 Arena: “Imagine if Paul was inducted into the Hall of Fame via live remote from the ECW Arena. I think that piece of nostalgia, people would’ve eaten up, they would’ve loved. But I do know that Paul likes to distance himself from ECW. Not because he’s not proud of what he did there, but that’s very much in his past.”
In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray shared his thoughts on Dominik Mysterio, GUNTHER’s match on WWE RAW, and Paul Heyman’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Bully Ray expressed his opinion on Dominik Mysterio, stating that the young wrestler generates a significant amount of heat and boos from the audience. He referred to Dominik as an “albatross to The Judgment Day,” implying that he has become a burden or obstacle for the event. Despite this, Bully Ray made it clear that he does not hold any animosity towards GUNTHER.
Moving on to GUNTHER, Bully Ray commended the wrestler’s credibility and championship status. He particularly praised GUNTHER’s chops, highlighting how they differ from the typical chops seen in wrestling matches. Bully Ray expressed his dislike for the “Shotgun Chops” commonly used by other wrestlers, but he believes that GUNTHER’s chops are impactful and visually appealing. He even expressed his desire to see someone tap out to GUNTHER’s chops, emphasizing their effectiveness.
Shifting gears, Bully Ray congratulated Paul Heyman on his well-deserved nomination for the WWE Hall of Fame. He acknowledged Heyman’s accomplishments beyond his work with ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling). Bully Ray emphasized that Heyman’s body of work as a performer alone qualifies him for the Hall of Fame.
Bully Ray also shared an interesting idea for Heyman’s induction ceremony. He suggested that Heyman be inducted from the ECW Arena, also known as the 2300 Arena, via live remote. This would add a nostalgic element to the event and resonate with fans who have fond memories of ECW. However, Bully Ray acknowledged that Heyman prefers to distance himself from ECW, not because he is not proud of his achievements there, but because it represents a specific chapter in his past.
Overall, Bully Ray’s insights on Dominik Mysterio, GUNTHER, and Paul Heyman provide an interesting perspective on current events in the WWE. His analysis sheds light on the reactions and potential future developments surrounding these individuals.
