Jeff Jarrett is excited to see what’s next from Will Ospreay following his in-ring debut as an official member of AEW’s roster at Revolution 2024.
At last weekend’s pay-per-view event, Ospreay defeated fellow Don Callis family member Konosuke Takeshita. Ospreay was confirmed as ‘All Elite’ during AEW Full Gear 2023.
On a recent edition of his “My World” podcast, Jarrett reflected on the match and shared his excitement for Ospreay’s future. He said,
“[Given] how many top talent that weren’t on the show, the depth of the roster is kind of amazing. But man, Will Ospreay is a special, special talent. His athleticism takes him to another level, and Takeshita, fantastic. We’ve seen both of them before. But there was something about that setting and that stage last night, just kind of the energy of the match, from the 10, 12 minute-mark, it bumped up a level, and it’s something about those, when you have a crowd, and where their placement was on the show, the recipe is always there to kind of steal the show.
“Anywhere from middle of the card to two matches before [the main event], you’re kind of in that scene-stealing match vibe because if you have that kind of match on two or three or four, there’s enough time on the show that you, I don’t want to say forget about it, but the rhythm of the show…my gosh. Hat’s off to both those guys.
“I’m excited to see where Will takes his career this year. In my opinion, he’s holding all the aces at this point. We’ll see where he goes. He was special last night.”
Ospreay is excited to have a large role now that he is officially part of AEW, especially with the promotion’s return to the United Kingdom later this year for AEW All In II.
Will Ospreay, the newest member of AEW’s roster, made his in-ring debut at the Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event. Ospreay’s victory over Konosuke Takeshita has garnered attention and excitement from wrestling legend Jeff Jarrett.
Jarrett, who hosts the “My World” podcast, recently shared his thoughts on Ospreay’s performance and expressed his anticipation for the wrestler’s future. He praised Ospreay’s exceptional athleticism and noted that the match reached a whole new level of energy and excitement as it progressed.
According to Jarrett, the placement of a match on the card is crucial in determining its potential to steal the show. Matches that fall in the middle of the card or a couple of matches before the main event often have the opportunity to shine and leave a lasting impression on the audience. He commended both Ospreay and Takeshita for their outstanding performance and acknowledged the impact they had on the crowd.
Jarrett also expressed his excitement about Ospreay’s career prospects in AEW. He believes that Ospreay holds all the aces and is eager to see where he takes his career this year. With AEW’s upcoming return to the United Kingdom for AEW All In II, Ospreay is expected to have a significant role and make a strong impact on the wrestling scene.
Ospreay himself is thrilled to be a part of AEW and is looking forward to playing a major role in the promotion’s UK tour. The wrestler is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and is determined to make the most of his time in AEW.
As an official member of AEW’s roster, Ospreay has already made a statement with his debut victory. Wrestling fans can expect to see more impressive performances from him in the future as he continues to showcase his skills and athleticism in the ring.
Overall, the addition of Will Ospreay to AEW’s roster has generated excitement and anticipation among fans and industry professionals alike. With his exceptional talent and the support of wrestling legends like Jeff Jarrett, Ospreay is poised to make a significant impact on the wrestling world in the coming years.
