Jake Hager would be wise to quit AEW as soon as possible and find work elsewhere, according to his former manager Dutch Mantell.
On a recent edition of his “Story Time” podcast, Mantell spoke about Hager, who joined AEW in 2019 as part of the Inner Circle. He said,
“The best thing [Hager] can do right now is get a job. Quit [the] promotion [AEW.] Well, Samoa Joe and Hager, I don’t see anything that’s right off the bat. You got to look at chemistry, and you got to go on in. You got to take time with Jack and say I went in there with him, which I wouldn’t do because I’m not in condition enough to even get in the ring anymore.”
Mantell managed Hager in 2013 and 2014 in a run that would see Jake challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 29.
Former manager Dutch Mantell has advised Jake Hager to leave All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and seek employment elsewhere. Mantell, who managed Hager from 2013 to 2014, shared his thoughts on the matter during a recent episode of his podcast, “Story Time.”
Hager, who joined AEW in 2019 as part of the Inner Circle faction, has been a prominent figure in the promotion. However, Mantell believes that it would be in Hager’s best interest to move on and find work outside of AEW.
Mantell emphasized the importance of chemistry when evaluating a wrestler’s potential success. He mentioned that he doesn’t see any immediate chemistry between Hager and other wrestlers in AEW, such as Samoa Joe. Mantell also acknowledged that he himself is not physically fit enough to step back into the ring.
During their time together, Mantell guided Hager to a World Heavyweight Championship challenge at WrestleMania 29. This experience gives Mantell a unique perspective on Hager’s abilities and potential in the wrestling industry.
While Mantell’s advice may be subjective, it raises questions about Hager’s future in AEW. It is essential for wrestlers to assess their career paths and make decisions that align with their goals and aspirations. Hager may need to evaluate his options and determine whether staying with AEW or exploring opportunities elsewhere would be more beneficial for his professional growth.
Ultimately, the decision lies with Hager himself. He will need to consider various factors, including his personal ambitions, the opportunities available to him, and the potential for growth and success in different promotions.
As the wrestling landscape continues to evolve, it is not uncommon for wrestlers to switch promotions throughout their careers. Many have found success by exploring new avenues and working with different companies. Hager may find that a change of scenery could provide fresh opportunities and challenges that could enhance his career.
Regardless of Hager’s decision, it is clear that his former manager, Dutch Mantell, believes that exploring other options outside of AEW would be a wise move. Only time will tell what path Hager chooses to take and how it will impact his future in the wrestling industry.
