Recollection of Carlito’s WrestleMania 25 Title Unification Match and Insightful Discussion with Tyler Breeze on NXT

On a recent edition of the “Stories With Brisco & Bradshaw” podcast, WWE Superstar Carlito recalled the tag team title unification match against John Morrison and The Miz at WrestleMania 25.

The match saw Carlito and his brother Primo defeat Morrison and The Miz to become the new Unified WWE Tag Team Champions.

Carlito said, “It was fun. It was great to have those guys with me, and like I said, at WrestleMania too. Especially if you’re a wrestling fan, for brothers, that’s kind of like one of their biggest dreams is to be in a tag match or wrestling each other. So the fact that we could do that at WrestleMania is one of my favorite moments I think I’ve had.”

On a recent edition of the “Developmentally Speaking” podcast, former WWE Superstar Tyler Breeze recalled the early stages of WWE NXT, which debuted as WWE’s developmental brand in 2012.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On the tester show for NXT: “We had a tester show to see the Full Sail [University] work as our weekly tapings, and so we had a tester show. ‘Ok, this is like a little more production, it’s a little bit bigger, it seems more than our FCW usual TV taping on local cable television.’”

On the early days of NXT: “Sometimes people talk about the Attitude Era, and they talk about having such a broad group of people in an era where you might get a Bruno Sammartino, but you don’t get four Bruno Sammartinos. We had all these guys that were hungry, and girls that were hungry. Everybody wanted to learn; everybody was just a student of the game, and once they kind of saw what was happening, they wanted to be a part of it.”

WrestleMania 25 is remembered as a significant event in the world of professional wrestling. One of the standout moments from that night was the tag team title unification match between John Morrison and The Miz and the team of Carlito and Primo. In a recent interview on the “Stories With Brisco & Bradshaw” podcast, WWE Superstar Carlito shared his thoughts and memories about that match.

Carlito expressed his excitement and joy about teaming up with his brother at WrestleMania. He mentioned that for wrestling fans, being in a tag team match or wrestling against each other at WrestleMania is a dream come true. He described it as one of his favorite moments in his career.

The match itself was a unification bout for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Carlito and Primo emerged victorious, defeating Morrison and The Miz to become the new Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. This win solidified their place in wrestling history and added another memorable moment to WrestleMania’s rich legacy.

In another podcast, former WWE Superstar Tyler Breeze discussed the early days of WWE NXT, which debuted as the company’s developmental brand in 2012. Breeze shared some insights into the initial stages of NXT and how it differed from their previous developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW).

Breeze mentioned that they had a tester show at Full Sail University to gauge how well it would work as their weekly tapings. He noted that the production value was higher compared to FCW’s local cable television tapings. This move to Full Sail marked a significant step forward for NXT and set the stage for its future success.

Reflecting on the early days of NXT, Breeze highlighted the hunger and passion among the talent. He compared it to the Attitude Era, where there was a diverse group of individuals who were all eager to learn and be part of something special. The dedication and enthusiasm of the NXT roster played a crucial role in shaping the brand into what it is today.

Both Carlito and Tyler Breeze’s interviews provide fans with a behind-the-scenes look at two different eras in WWE. WrestleMania 25 and the early days of NXT hold a special place in the hearts of wrestling enthusiasts, and these interviews offer a glimpse into the experiences and emotions of the superstars involved.

As the world of professional wrestling continues to evolve, it is important to remember and celebrate the moments and individuals who have contributed to its rich history. WrestleMania 25 and the early days of NXT are just two examples of how the industry has grown and transformed over the years, leaving a lasting impact on both fans and performers alike.
