Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer is reporting some interesting news as it pertains to the future locations of SummerSlam & Survivor Series PPV’s.
Orange County in Florida is interested in bringing in both SummerSlam and Survivor Series over the next few years. $125K in funding has been approved and $75K of that is allocated to getting SummerSlam in Orlando in 2021 or 2022.
$50K has been approved to get Survivor Series to Orlando in either 2020, 2021, or 2022. Executives in the county believe that over $6 million dollars would be generated in revenue for SummerSlam, and over $4 million would be earned with a Survivor Series PPV.
As of this writing, there is no confirmation on a location for Survivor Series next year. SummerSlam will be held in Boston next year. Orlando recently hosted a ‘Big 4 PPV’ when WrestleMania was in town two years ago. NXT already has a huge presence in the area as their weekly show is currently filmed at Full Sail University. The WWE performance center is also in the immediate area.
WrestleMania is coming to Florida again next year a few hours down the road in Tampa.
