Pepperman was backstage at Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite TV tapings in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that those in WWE believed Pepperman was quitting the company to go to AEW because she is close with Mercedes Mone.
Meltzer wrote, “Sports Illustrated noted Jennifer Pepperman hired by AEW as a writer. She just quit WWE last week and those in WWE believed she was AEW bound because she’s very close with Mercedes Mone.”
Mone is believed to have signed with AEW, and will reportedly make her debut at AEW: Big Business in Boston, MA on March 13.
