“Discover the 70 Notable Absences from the WWE 2K24 Roster”

The full roster list for WWE 2K24 is out, and at a glance, a few notable names are missing. Obviously, the two biggest omissions everyone is talking about are Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon due to the ongoing lawsuit. Those are no-brainers.

But the more I looked at this list, the more I started to pick up on some other names that aren’t on the official lineup. A few of those make perfect sense, either due to their status as a fresh NXT talent. Some are new signings that came after the game had long been in development. But there are some others that leave me scratching my head.

All in all, when cross-referencing the official 2K list with my own WWE Roster List, I came up with a whopping 70 names NOT listed on 2K’s website.

Let’s break them down into categories and call attention to some surprises and some not-so-shocking absentees.

Surely This is a Typo…Right???

  • Dragon Lee – He’s been signed to the company since December 2022. Considering how he’s not only been treated like a big star from the start, but that he’s had a full year on the roster, and there are lesser and newer names like Maxxine Dupri included, this is an odd omission.
  • Drew McIntyre – He’s in the game. We have his rating. But for some reason, they forgot to include him on the site’s list. This is the most definitive typo to call attention to as an example of how they might just be flat out missing some names with some intern botching typing it out.
  • Karl Anderson – Um…Luke Gallows is in the game. Typo? Obviously, Karl Anderson should be included right beside him.
  • Lyra Valkyria – She’s been in NXT far too long, and NXT UK for that matter, and even is the current champion. How is she not in the game, or at least, not listed properly on the roster page?!
  • Mark Coffey – Like Anderson with Gallows, they have Joe Coffey and Wolfgang listed. There’s no way they just didn’t bother to put Mark Coffey in there and had 2/3 of Gallus.
  • Von Wagner – How long has he been around? The guy’s technically a free agent on the main roster, even though he’s only been in NXT. But even if that’s the case, we can’t have Wagner out of this game while less established NXT stars are included.

New Acquisitions / Not Enough Time to Have Been Included

These people are big enough names that they would definitely be in the game if they had been part of the roster earlier. I imagine that’s the only reason they’re not on the lineup.

With some of them, they could certainly be DLC additions later on. Others might not get that distinction and may have to wait until 2K25.

  • Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar)
  • Andrade
  • Carlito
  • CM Punk
  • Jade Cargill
  • Kairi Sane
  • Lexis King
  • Naomi
  • Nia Jax

Curiously Absent

These WWE Superstars aren’t in a prominent enough position that their lack of inclusion is astonishing, but it is rather odd. All things considered, there are Superstars who have had as much or even less exposure and been in the company a shorter time frame who are in the game, but these aren’t.

  • Charlie Dempsey (interesting because Damon Kemp is listed)
  • Dani Palmer
  • Eddy Thorpe
  • Edris Enofe and Malik Blade
  • Elektra Lopez
  • Gable Steveson
  • Hank Walker and Tank Ledger
  • Meta-Four’s Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend and Oro Mensah
  • Javier Bernal
  • Kelani Jordan
  • Lola Vice
  • Meiko Satomura (I’m convinced at this point that she’s quietly released)
  • Odyssey Jones (where’s this dude been???)
  • Sol Ruca
  • Stevie Turner
  • Tatum Paxley
  • Valentina Feroz
  • Xyon Quinn (remember how this guy was drafted as a free agent and promptly never seen on television on any roster again?)

Poor Schmucks

Boa, Dante Chen and Guru Raaj stand out to me as 3 guys from NXT that would be on the above section, if it wasn’t so obvious how little WWE values them.

They are perpetually only used if they need a jobber and can’t get any of the other talent. You NEVER see them in any other capacity. Frankly, at this point, you don’t even see them at all anymore, really. When’s the last time you even saw Guru Raaj lose on something like NXT Level Up?

Granted, most people don’t even care about the bigger NXT names or the people who are on the lower end of the Raw and SmackDown rosters, so it’s not like there’s going to be a groundswell of support to get someone like Boa in 2K24. But it’s still got to be disheartening to see that you’ve been in NXT for several years and WWE thinks so poorly of you that you aren’t worth getting scanned for the game.

This is just one of many indicators that they’re signed to contracts to be crash test dummies and not actual WWE Superstars at this point.

Less Established & Newer NXT Superstars

Here is a list of newer NXT Superstars who have made their debuts relatively recently, or they’ve only done a little amount of on-screen stuff to the point that it’s unrealistic WWE and 2K would have spent the resources and time and effort in putting them in the game.

But for the sake of just listing everyone (outside of the NIL athletes, of course), here are the remainders who are missing from the official 2K24 roster page:

  • Adriana Rizzo
  • Arianna Grace
  • Ava Raine
  • Brinley Reece
  • Bronco Nima
  • Carlee Bright
  • Dion Lennox
  • Izzi Dame
  • Jaida Parker
  • Jazmyn Nyx
  • Je’Von Evans
  • Kale Dixon
  • Karmen Petrovic
  • Keanu Carver
  • Kiyah Saint
  • Lainey Reid
  • Luca Crusifino
  • Lucien Price
  • Myles Borne
  • Oba Femi
  • Riley Osborne
  • Tavion Heights
  • Trey Bearhill
  • Tyriek Igwe
  • Tyson Dupont
  • Wren Sinclair

What do you think of these omissions? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!

The release of the full roster list for WWE 2K24 has sparked a lot of discussion among fans. While some notable names are missing, such as Brock Lesnar and Vince McMahon due to an ongoing lawsuit, there are also several surprising omissions that have caught the attention of fans.

Upon cross-referencing the official 2K list with other sources, it was discovered that a whopping 70 names were not listed on the website. Let’s break down these omissions into different categories and highlight some surprises and not-so-shocking absentees.

Firstly, there are a few names that seem like obvious typos or oversights. Dragon Lee, who has been signed to the company since December 2022, is a notable omission considering his status as a big star and his year-long tenure on the roster. Another surprising omission is Drew McIntyre, who is actually in the game but was not included on the official list. Karl Anderson is another puzzling omission, especially since his tag team partner Luke Gallows is included. Lyra Valkyria, the current NXT UK champion, and Mark Coffey are also missing from the roster despite their counterparts being listed.

There are also some new acquisitions or talents that may not have had enough time to be included in the game. These names include Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar), Andrade, Carlito, CM Punk, Jade Cargill, Kairi Sane, Lexis King, Naomi, and Nia Jax. It is possible that these individuals could be added as DLC (downloadable content) later on or may have to wait until the next installment of the game.

In the category of curiously absent superstars, there are individuals who have had as much exposure or even less than those included in the game. Some examples include Charlie Dempsey, Dani Palmer, Eddy Thorpe, Edris Enofe and Malik Blade, Elektra Lopez, Gable Steveson, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger, Meta-Four’s Jakara Jackson, Lash Legend, and Oro Mensah, Javier Bernal, Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, Meiko Satomura, Odyssey Jones, Sol Ruca, Stevie Turner, Tatum Paxley, Valentina Feroz, and Xyon Quinn.

Lastly, there are a few NXT talents who have been consistently underutilized and rarely seen on television. Boa, Dante Chen, and Guru Raaj fall into this category. While their absence may not come as a surprise to many, it is still disheartening to see that they have not been included in the game, indicating WWE’s lack of value for them.

Additionally, there is a list of less established and newer NXT superstars who have either recently debuted or have had limited on-screen appearances. It is understandable that WWE and 2K may not have prioritized including these individuals in the game due to resource and time constraints.

Overall, the omissions from the WWE 2K24 roster have sparked discussion among fans. While some names are missing due to ongoing legal issues or recent acquisitions, others seem to be oversights or indications of WWE’s lack of investment in certain talents. Whether these omissions will be rectified in future updates or in the next installment of the game remains to be seen.
