PPV EVENT INFORMATION

Date: Saturday, February 24, 2024

Start Time: 4 a.m. ET (kickoff), 5 p.m. ET (main show)

Location: Optus Stadium in Burswood, Perth, Western Australia

MATCH CARD, PREDICTIONS & HEAT INDEX ANTICIPATION LEVELS

(as currently advertised; card is always subject to change)

Temperature Scale = Scorching > Hot > Lukewarm > Temperate > Chilly > Cold > Freezing

Heat Index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud has been. The hotter, the better. Scorching translates to not being able to wait to see it, while Freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and think it will be awful.

A Comprehensive Preview of WWE Elimination Chamber 2024: Complete Card, Match Predictions, and Additional Details

GRAYSON WALLER EFFECT:
with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

Heat Index = Temperate
Prediction: Grayson Waller gets beaten up by the end of this segment.

Thoughts: I don’t know what WWE is doing with The Rock for WrestleMania. This segment probably isn’t going to answer that question, though. I’m anticipating it to be largely a waste of time in the grand scheme. Basically, I think we’ll get an extended recap of the things Cody and Seth have already said, just reworded a bit, and no new revelations. For instance, I don’t think we’re going to see Priest cash in on Rollins here, or for Cody and Seth to have any kind of problems. It could be as straight-up and simple as Waller poking the bear a bit, trying to allude to their problems in the past, and eventually, Austin Theory and Waller start to get physical, only for Seth and Cody to team up and take them out to prove they’re on the same side. I can’t stress enough how much I do not, under any circumstances, want Seth to screw Cody at WrestleMania. That’s not interesting enough to bypass Cody winning the title, which is the story I want to see unfold. No exceptions. So if this ends up being a set up for that, I’m going to be steaming.

SINGLES MATCH FOR THE WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP:
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Nia Jax

Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Rhea Ripley wins.

Thoughts: I’ll admit, I’ve liked Nia Jax more this run than I anticipated. While this isn’t exactly the S-tier choice that I would have gone with for how to book Rhea Ripley for this pay-per-view, I think it’s going to suffice. She’ll have her big moment when she hits the Riptide for the win. There’s no chance she drops the title. Absolutely zero chance.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR A WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA XL:
Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Liv Morgan vs. Naomi vs. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Tiffany Stratton

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Becky Lynch wins.

Thoughts: As I expect Rhea Ripley to retain her title, I fully expect the simplest answer here to be the outcome. Rhea and Becky has been hinted at for a year. Something has to happen with Bianca Belair come WrestleMania, but I’m thinking it’s more likely she just fights Jade Cargill in a feud match or they team up to fight for the women’s tag titles. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez could be in that position, too. Naomi as well. Ultimately, I think Lynch has no avenues outside of fighting Ripley, while the others do. This should be fun. I like all these women and they should do a great job.

TAG TEAM MATCH FOR THE UNDISPUTED WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor and Damian Priest) (c) vs. Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate

Heat Index = Temperate
Prediction: The Judgment Day wins.

Thoughts: I like Bate and Dunne, but does anyone realistically think they have a shot at winning? I’m pretty surprised they’re getting this match. Frankly, I’m still surprised these ugly title belts are still around and WWE hasn’t revamped them and/or split them from the unified idea yet. But since that hasn’t happened, and we’re only going to get one match at WrestleMania (I’d assume) dedicated to the tag titles, I just can’t see New Catch Republic walking in as champions over The Judgment Day.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER MATCH FOR A WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA XL:
Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Kevin Owens vs. LA Knight vs. vs. Logan Paul vs. Randy Orton

Heat Index = Scorching
Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins.

Thoughts: There are so many ways this could go down. WWE keeps teasing something with Sami Zayn heading to WrestleMania, mostly revolving around Drew McIntyre, who is my favorite to win this match if nothing else happens to the lineup. How would Sami then get in the title match with Drew if Seth is champion and Drew wins this? Even if you throw in Damian Priest and the Money in the Bank option, that still doesn’t answer that question. So do we get Drew and Sami in a separate match at Mania and someone else is going to fight Rollins? What about that potential tag match with Rock and Roman against Seth and Cody, then? I’m still not 100% convinced that someone won’t get taken out of this match and replaced by either CM Punk or The Rock to win instead. Just saying. Crazy situation. That makes it so much more interesting, on top of it already including a fantastic group of talent.

OVERALL PPV:
How excited am I for the event as a whole?

Heat Index = Hot

Thoughts: It seems like a rather bare bones card in some ways, to be honest. Also, I can’t say Nia Jax and New Catch Republic would be my go-to options to put on this card while some other names are sitting out. But while I could nitpick things here and there (like how we’re getting another promo segment on a premium live event) I do think this has potential to be fun, even if it’s at 5am.
