Rocky Romero Joins AEW, Plus Danielson’s Interest in Okada Joining AEW

Rocky Romero is now working as part of AEW’s front office.

Romero has worked with AEW as a liaison with NJPW over the last few years. In that role, he has helped facilitate a number of relationships between several companies. Of course, Romero also appears on-screen in AEW, NJPW, CMLL, MLW and other promotions. He is the reigning MLW World Middleweight Champion.

As we previously reported here on eWn, Kazuchika Okada is expected to sign with All Elite Wrestling. The deal was reportedly verbally agreed upon several weeks ago.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Bryan Danielson was asked about Okada’s free agency and his future in wrestling.

You can check out some highlights from the interview below:

On Okada’s future: “Of course I want him to come to AEW. Fans all over the world know how great Okada is. Both WWE and AEW are major players, but I hope he comes to AEW.”

On Okada potentially signing with WWE: “If he went to WWE, they might have him start with (third brand) NXT like Shinsuke (Nakamura) to adapt to the American style, but it’s already completed. Okada doesn’t need that. He’s one of the best wrestlers in the world right now, so he should just come to the United States without changing anything.”

Rocky Romero Joins AEW’s Front Office: What Does This Mean for the Wrestling Industry?

In a surprising move, Rocky Romero has recently joined All Elite Wrestling’s (AEW) front office. Known for his work as a liaison between AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), Romero has played a significant role in facilitating relationships between various wrestling companies. This new position marks a significant step forward for both Romero and AEW, as they continue to make waves in the wrestling industry.

Romero’s involvement with AEW began a few years ago when he started working as a liaison with NJPW. This role allowed him to bridge the gap between the two promotions, helping to create partnerships and collaborations that benefited both sides. His expertise and connections have been instrumental in bringing together some of the biggest names in wrestling.

Aside from his behind-the-scenes work, Romero is also a prominent figure on-screen. He has appeared in AEW, NJPW, CMLL, MLW, and other promotions, showcasing his talent and versatility as a wrestler. Currently, he holds the MLW World Middleweight Championship, further solidifying his status as a top performer in the industry.

The addition of Romero to AEW’s front office is undoubtedly a strategic move by the promotion. With his experience and knowledge of the wrestling landscape, Romero can contribute significantly to AEW’s growth and expansion plans. His presence will likely enhance AEW’s relationships with other promotions, opening up new opportunities for talent exchanges and cross-promotional events.

One of the most significant developments that Romero’s appointment brings is the potential signing of Kazuchika Okada. According to reports, Okada is expected to join AEW after verbally agreeing to a deal several weeks ago. This news has generated excitement among fans worldwide, as Okada is widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers in the world.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Bryan Danielson expressed his desire for Okada to join AEW. He acknowledged Okada’s greatness and highlighted the global recognition he has earned throughout his career. Danielson also dismissed the possibility of Okada signing with WWE, stating that he should come to the United States without changing anything.

If Okada does sign with AEW, it would be a significant coup for the promotion. His presence would not only add star power but also elevate the overall quality of AEW’s in-ring product. Okada’s matches are known for their technical excellence and storytelling, making him a perfect fit for AEW’s wrestling-focused approach.

Overall, Rocky Romero’s move to AEW’s front office signifies the promotion’s commitment to collaboration and growth. With his expertise and connections, Romero can help forge new partnerships and bring in top talent from around the world. Additionally, the potential signing of Kazuchika Okada adds another layer of excitement to AEW’s already thriving roster. Wrestling fans can look forward to an exciting future as AEW continues to shake up the industry.
