Carmelo Hayes has finally admitted that he was the person who attacked Trick Williams months ago on an episode of WWE NXT.
At Sunday night’s 2024 WWE NXT: Vengeance Day pay-per-view event, Hayes turned on Williams after the latter lost to Ilja Dragunov in the main event.
On Tuesday’s show, Hayes cut a promo where he acknowledged that he was the one who attacked Trick back in October to keep him from being part of the NXT Championship #1 Contender’s match.
Hayes went on to say that Williams had betrayed him by going for the NXT Championship when he should have remained at the North American Championship level. He went on to mock Williams’ two-day run with North American Championship and said Trick was always just his hype man.
During the main event, Dragunov defeated Dijak. Following the match, Melo attacked Dragunov with a chop block from behind and a beatdown ensued as the show went off the air.
