Ortiz, one-half of the popular tag team Santana and Ortiz in All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has expressed his desire to train in Japan and Mexico in 2024. In a recent YouTube video by Isiah Kassidy, Ortiz discussed his goals for the future and his plans to expand his wrestling skills by training in different countries.

Ortiz stated, “Goals going forward, I want to do an excursion in Japan and Mexico. Just to go train. I just want to go for a month or two and just go train with different people.” This excursion would allow Ortiz to learn from experienced wrestlers in these countries and further develop his skills.

The wrestler also mentioned that he has always prided himself on being able to wrestle every style. However, he feels that he is still trying to find his new voice in professional wrestling and wants to go back to basics. Ortiz aims to learn Spanish fluently and have basic conversations in Japanese, which will not only enhance his in-ring abilities but also allow him to connect with a wider audience.

Training in Japan and Mexico is highly beneficial for any professional wrestler. Both countries have rich wrestling traditions and are known for producing some of the best talent in the industry. Japanese wrestling, also known as puroresu, emphasizes strong style and technical prowess, while Mexican wrestling, or lucha libre, focuses on high-flying acrobatics and storytelling.

By immersing himself in these different wrestling cultures, Ortiz will gain valuable knowledge and experience that can elevate his performances in the ring. He will have the opportunity to learn new techniques, study different wrestling philosophies, and train with top-tier talent. This exposure will not only help him refine his own style but also bring fresh ideas and creativity to his matches.

Furthermore, training abroad allows wrestlers to build connections and establish relationships with international promotions. This can open doors for future opportunities, such as competing in prestigious tournaments or working for renowned promotions like New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in Japan or Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) in Mexico.

Ortiz’s desire to train in Japan and Mexico reflects his dedication to his craft and his commitment to continuous improvement. By seeking out new challenges and experiences, he is taking proactive steps towards becoming a more well-rounded and versatile wrestler.

In the meantime, fans can catch Ortiz and his tag team partner Santana on AEW programming, where they have been making waves with their impressive performances. As they continue to showcase their skills on a global stage, Ortiz’s training aspirations in Japan and Mexico will undoubtedly add another layer of excitement to their already impressive repertoire.

Overall, Ortiz’s decision to train in Japan and Mexico in 2024 demonstrates his ambition and passion for professional wrestling. It is a testament to his commitment to honing his craft and exploring new horizons. As fans, we can look forward to witnessing the growth and evolution of Ortiz as he embarks on this exciting journey.
