“Loved the movie, and she viewed that as that history. New audience, a Zac Efron audience, it’s just based upon a movie as opposed to real life.”

Dreamer added that the film embellishes some of the history of the Von Erichs, which he fears will become the newly-accepted ‘truth’. He said,

“The people [those seeing the film without prior knowledge of the Von Erichs] are gonna believe what they do, and in this modern day, you get destroyed over a piece of an interview that someone posts as opposed to listening to the interview. So, yes, that affects it, but I really enjoyed the movie.”

Dreamer also praised Holt McCallany’s portrayal of Fritz Von Erich. He said,

Tommy Dreamer, a former professional wrestler, recently shared his thoughts on the film “The Iron Claw” and expressed concerns about the way it portrayed the history of the Von Erichs. Dreamer, who watched the movie with his daughter, loved the film but believes that it may mislead new audiences who are unfamiliar with the real-life events.

In an interview on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Dreamer mentioned that the film embellishes certain aspects of the Von Erichs’ history. He worries that this fictionalized version of events could become the accepted truth for those who have no prior knowledge of the Von Erich family. In today’s digital age, where information spreads quickly and often without fact-checking, Dreamer fears that people may believe what they see in the movie without seeking out the real story.

Despite his concerns, Dreamer emphasized that he thoroughly enjoyed the film. He particularly praised Holt McCallany’s portrayal of Fritz Von Erich, the patriarch of the Von Erich wrestling dynasty. Dreamer commended McCallany for capturing Fritz’s mannerisms and speech patterns, stating that his performance was spot-on.

“The Iron Claw” is a movie that tells the story of the Von Erich family, a famous wrestling dynasty from Texas. The film explores their rise to fame, personal struggles, and tragic events that plagued the family. It features actor Zac Efron in a leading role and has gained attention for its depiction of the wrestling industry and the Von Erichs’ legacy.

Dreamer’s comments shed light on the potential impact of movies like “The Iron Claw” on public perception. While films can be entertaining and provide a glimpse into historical events, it is essential to remember that they often take creative liberties for storytelling purposes. Audiences should approach such movies with a critical eye and seek out additional information to gain a more accurate understanding of the real-life events they depict.

In conclusion, Tommy Dreamer’s remarks about “The Iron Claw” highlight the importance of distinguishing between entertainment and reality. While the film may be enjoyable, it is crucial to recognize that it may not present an entirely accurate portrayal of the Von Erichs’ history. As viewers, we should be mindful of the potential impact of movies on public perception and take the initiative to seek out reliable sources for a more comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
