Eric Bischoff remains confident that whoever is revealed as the person under the Devil mask will be an anticlimactic revelation.
On a recent edition of his “83 Weeks” podcast, Bischoff spoke about AEW’s past surprises and believes the company is continuously overhyping things. He said,
“They no longer have faith in you, they don’t trust you, they don’t believe you anymore when you lose your credibility by overhyping. And who suffers? The talent suffers. There’s just no value in all that hype. There is zero value in all that hype. There is a tremendous amount of value in well-constructed surprises.”
Bischoff then turned his attention to the Devil and doubled down on recent claims that this reveal would not have been worth it. He said,
“It’s a career killer. It’s so anticlimactic that whoever it is [behind the mask] is going to suffer as a result because it’s been just so poorly constructed.”
Names being speculated as the one behind the mask include Adam Cole, Britt Baker, Wardlow, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Perry, Roderick Strong, and MJF.

Eric Bischoff, a prominent figure in the world of professional wrestling, recently expressed his confidence that the reveal of the person under the Devil mask in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) would be anticlimactic. Bischoff shared his thoughts on his “83 Weeks” podcast, where he discussed AEW’s past surprises and the company’s tendency to overhype things.
According to Bischoff, overhyping events and surprises can lead to a loss of credibility and trust from the audience. He believes that this lack of faith and trust ultimately harms the talent involved. Bischoff emphasized that there is no value in excessive hype but highlighted the importance of well-constructed surprises.
Turning his attention specifically to the Devil mask reveal, Bischoff reiterated his previous claims that it would not be worth the anticipation. Speculation has been rife regarding the identity of the person behind the Devil mask. Names such as Adam Cole, Britt Baker, Wardlow, Dolph Ziggler, Jack Perry, Roderick Strong, and MJF have been mentioned as potential candidates. However, Bischoff’s comments suggest that regardless of who it is, the reveal may not live up to expectations.
