On a recent edition of his “My World” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett revealed whether there were ever any plans for Brock Lesnar to appear in TNA while he was signed to the UFC.
Spike TV had a relationship with the UFC at the time and there were speculations that Lesnar could appear in TNA as part of some potential cross-promotional efforts.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On whether there was any talk of having Brock Lesnar appear in TNA as a cross-promotion with the UFC: “I had no illusions of him ever doing anything for TNA… just because of his relationship of you know, he went through Ohio Valley and — now if Spike wanted it or requested it, I could have seen that. Would I have been open to it? Hell yeah. But I just didn’t see that in the cards. It would have surprised me if he would have done anything with us. Because at this time, hadn’t he basically distanced himself from Vince [McMahon]? For whatever reason, I don’t even recall that being discussed. And maybe it was because I felt like he left wrestling and now he’s in MMA. There’s no crossover. That’s what I remember. It may be off in my recollection, but that’s what I remember.”
On Mick Foley and his impact on TNA: “He just had a real connectivity to the audience. Still does, and he knows how to talk. I mean, he knows how to convey emotion. Mick really engaged himself with our — I don’t want to call it our young talent, but the younger guys, however you want to say it, the front line as a story.”

Brock Lesnar’s Potential Appearance in TNA: A Missed Opportunity?
In the world of professional wrestling, cross-promotional efforts and surprise appearances are not uncommon. Fans love to see their favorite wrestlers make unexpected appearances in different promotions, creating buzz and excitement. One such potential crossover that had fans speculating was the possibility of Brock Lesnar appearing in TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling) while he was signed to the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). However, according to WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett, this was never in the cards.
During a recent episode of his “My World” podcast, Jeff Jarrett shed light on the rumors surrounding Brock Lesnar’s potential appearance in TNA. At the time, Spike TV had a relationship with the UFC, leading to speculation that Lesnar could make a cross-promotional appearance in TNA. However, Jarrett revealed that he had no illusions of Lesnar ever doing anything for TNA due to his relationship with Vince McMahon and his transition from wrestling to MMA.
Jarrett explained that while he would have been open to the idea if Spike TV had requested it, he didn’t see it happening. Lesnar had distanced himself from McMahon and the wrestling world, focusing solely on his career in MMA. Jarrett believed that there was no crossover between wrestling and MMA at that time, which made Lesnar’s potential appearance in TNA unlikely.
Despite the missed opportunity for Lesnar to appear in TNA, the podcast episode also touched upon another wrestling legend who made a significant impact on the promotion – Mick Foley. Jarrett praised Foley for his ability to connect with the audience and convey emotion through his promos. Foley’s involvement with the younger talent in TNA helped elevate their stories and performances.
While fans may have been disappointed by the lack of Lesnar’s appearance in TNA, it’s important to remember that cross-promotional efforts are complex and depend on various factors, including contractual obligations, personal relationships, and the direction of the promotions involved. In this case, it seems that the stars did not align for Lesnar to make a surprise appearance in TNA.
As wrestling fans, we can continue to speculate and dream about potential crossovers and surprise appearances. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll witness the unexpected return of Brock Lesnar in a different wrestling promotion. Until then, we can enjoy the memories and moments created by the talented performers who have graced the wrestling world throughout the years.
