Public Opinion Divided on CM Punk’s WWE Return, Reveals Bobby Lashley
– ADVERTISMENT –

During a recent appearance on “The Ten Count” podcast, Bobby Lashley commented on CM Punk returning to WWE and he confirmed that not everyone was for the idea of Punk returning to the company at this year’s Survivor Series 2023 pay-per-view event, which lines up with previous reports.

The Almighty said, “I really don’t know, to be honest with you. I was actually leaving [WWE in 2008) around the time when Punk was really starting to pick up a little steam. I mean, he was there, but he really didn’t do anything at that time. And I know he had a big impact in WWE in his time there. I spoke with some of the guys that know him. I got mixed feelings. Some people were very against it, some people were, you know, whatever. But you know, it’s a land of opportunity. So, if he comes back and he helps out the show, and that’s the business side of it. I don’t really know Punk too personally. When I was fighting, he went to UFC. I put my money on him. So he does owe me a little bit of money (Laughs). Twice. I was like, Oh, you could do it. Come on.”

He continued, “For integrity purposes, I understand he has a big name, he’s coming back. And he’s gonna do some big numbers, but I hope they make him kind of work for some of the stuff. I hope he’s not one of the people that ‘oh okay, he comes back, gonna win the Rumble, we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna do that.’ I hope they give him an opportunity to kind of prove his loyalty to the business and some of the people in there just to let everybody know, some of the naysayers, some of the people that aren’t too happy about him being there. I hope he has his opportunity to work his way back up to the top and not just [be] given everything, because maybe he negotiated a good contract that allowed him to do that.”

Bobby Lashley Comments on CM Punk’s Return to WWE

In a recent appearance on “The Ten Count” podcast, Bobby Lashley shared his thoughts on CM Punk’s return to WWE. Lashley confirmed that not everyone was in favor of the idea of Punk returning to the company at this year’s Survivor Series 2023 pay-per-view event, which aligns with previous reports.

Lashley, also known as “The Almighty,” admitted that he didn’t have much personal experience with Punk during his previous WWE run. He mentioned that he was leaving WWE in 2008 when Punk was starting to gain momentum. However, Lashley acknowledged that Punk had a significant impact during his time in WWE.

The wrestler revealed that he spoke with some people who know Punk and received mixed feelings about his return. While some were against it, others were more open to the idea. Lashley recognized that WWE is a land of opportunity, and if Punk can contribute to the show’s success, then it’s a positive move from a business perspective.

Lashley also shared a personal connection with Punk, mentioning that when he was fighting, Punk transitioned to UFC. Lashley supported him and even put money on him to win. He jokingly said that Punk owes him a little bit of money for winning those fights.

When it comes to Punk’s return, Lashley emphasized the importance of integrity and hoped that Punk would have to work for his accomplishments. He expressed his desire for Punk not to be handed everything on a silver platter but rather earn his way back to the top. Lashley believed that this would prove Punk’s loyalty to the business and address the concerns of those who are skeptical or unhappy about his return.

Overall, Lashley’s comments shed light on the mixed reactions within the wrestling community regarding CM Punk’s comeback to WWE. While some are excited about his return, others have reservations and hope to see Punk prove himself once again.
