Eric Bischoff gave his thoughts on various topics on the latest episode of his 83 Weeks Podcast.
During it, Bischoff talked about including the report that there are people in WWE pushing for CM Punk to wrestle Steve Austin, who has yet to be approached about the idea by the company.
“Yeah, I mean, I’d be optimistic as well because I love watching Steve, I love his character. He’s just an amazing performer, and he’s got such a great legacy. I would love to see it. I question whether Steve’s in a place physically where he wants to get in there and bounce around. Steve is also the kind of guy that doesn’t want to go out there and be less than what people remember him being. It’s one thing to go out in a WrestleMania moment for a spot. That’s not a match. I could see Steve getting physically, but a match? A 12-or-15-or-18-minute match that requires give and take? I hope Steve’s physically in a place where he feels confident he wants to do that because that would be amazing, but it’s been a minute. So I don’t know. Hey, I hope it happens,” Bischoff said.

In a recent episode of his 83 Weeks Podcast, Eric Bischoff shared his thoughts on several topics, including the rumor that there are individuals within WWE who are pushing for a match between CM Punk and Steve Austin. However, Bischoff revealed that Austin has not been approached by the company regarding this idea.
Bischoff expressed his optimism about the potential match, stating that he would love to see it happen. He praised Austin’s character and legacy, describing him as an amazing performer. However, Bischoff also raised concerns about Austin’s physical condition and whether he would be willing to get back in the ring and engage in a full-length match.
According to Bischoff, Austin is the type of person who wouldn’t want to disappoint fans by delivering a performance that falls short of their expectations. While he acknowledged that Austin might be open to making a brief appearance at WrestleMania or a similar event, he questioned whether Austin would be physically prepared for a longer match that requires physicality and endurance.
Bischoff emphasized that he hopes Austin is in a place where he feels confident and comfortable taking on such a challenge because it would undoubtedly be an incredible spectacle for wrestling fans. However, he also acknowledged that it has been some time since Austin last competed in a match, so it remains uncertain whether he would be willing to step back into the ring.
