As we reported last night here on eWn, Ronda Rousey made her Ring of Honor debut at the ROH TV on HonorClub tapings. The appearance wasn’t promoted in advance. Rousey teamed with Marina Shafir to face off against Athena and Billie Starkz in a winning effort.
According to a report from Fightful Select, Ronda Rousey has not signed an official contract with AEW/ROH. She is simply working on a handshake deal for the time being. The reason she’s been booked for ROH, REVOLVER and Lucha VaVoom events over the past few weeks is because she wanted to work with her good friend Shafir.
Rousey is not the mystery signing planned for AEW Full Gear 2023 tonight. She was never considered for that spot.
Additionally, all of the recently released WWE talents have non-compete clauses that don’t expire until December 20th. As far as Will Ospreay is concerned, his NJPW contract expires in February but he’s been given permission to negotiate with other companies. Of course, NJPW and AEW have a good working relationship so it’s very possible they’ll allow Ospreay to sign an AEW contract while he continues his commitments with them through February.

Ronda Rousey Makes Surprise Appearance at Ring of Honor Event
Last night, Ronda Rousey shocked fans by making her debut at the Ring of Honor (ROH) TV on HonorClub tapings. The appearance was not promoted in advance, adding to the excitement and surprise for the audience. Rousey teamed up with Marina Shafir and faced off against Athena and Billie Starkz, ultimately emerging victorious.
However, despite her impressive performance, it has been reported that Ronda Rousey has not signed an official contract with AEW/ROH. Currently, she is working on a handshake deal, indicating that her involvement with these promotions may be temporary. The reason behind her recent bookings with ROH, REVOLVER, and Lucha VaVoom events is her desire to work alongside her good friend Shafir.
Contrary to speculation, Rousey is not the mystery signing planned for AEW Full Gear 2023 tonight. She was never considered for that spot, leaving fans curious about who the surprise addition will be.
In other news, it has been revealed that all recently released WWE talents have non-compete clauses that will not expire until December 20th. This means that they are unable to join any other wrestling promotions until that date. However, there is an exception for Will Ospreay, whose NJPW contract expires in February. Ospreay has been given permission to negotiate with other companies, and given the good working relationship between NJPW and AEW, it is highly likely that he will be allowed to sign an AEW contract while fulfilling his commitments with NJPW through February.
