TNA Wrestling, the original name of Impact Wrestling before the company rebranded in 2017, will make its return on January 13, 2024, at TNA Hard To Kill, as announced by Scott D’Amore at Bound For Glory 2023.

“I don’t know what went into their decision to do it, I don’t have that information. Without that insight, it could be a good or bad business decision. They could have moved intellectual properties, they could have moved from one LLC to another for who knows what reason, maybe they have new investors, I have no idea, but just based on that question…going back to TNA Wrestling, from IMPACT Wrestling, this is just my opinion, I’m not trying to talk shit on anybody; I don’t see it as making that big of a difference.”

He continued, “To me, it doesn’t sound like earth-shattering news. When people call IMPACT Wrestling, TNA in conversation, it’s almost interchangeable. On that basis alone, I don’t think that just by changing the name to TNA Wrestling, on that alone, is going to add a lot of value, or any value, in my opinion, being an outsider, to the company on its own. I don’t see it adding value to it. If It’s along with other plans, which I’m sure it probably is, then they probably have some potentially good ideas and more power to them.”

TNA Wrestling Set to Make a Comeback at TNA Hard To Kill in 2024

After rebranding as Impact Wrestling in 2017, TNA Wrestling is set to make its return on January 13, 2024, at TNA Hard To Kill. This announcement was made by Scott D’Amore at Bound For Glory 2023, creating a buzz among wrestling fans.

The news of TNA’s return has sparked discussions and opinions from various individuals within the wrestling industry. One notable figure who shared his thoughts on the matter is Rob Van Dam (RVD), who discussed it on his podcast, “1 Of A Kind.”

RVD expressed his uncertainty about the reasons behind the decision to bring back the TNA name. He mentioned that without insight into the company’s decision-making process, it is difficult to determine whether it is a good or bad business move. He speculated that it could be related to intellectual property or the involvement of new investors.

However, RVD also pointed out that the name change from Impact Wrestling to TNA Wrestling may not have a significant impact on the company’s value. He stated that people often use the terms interchangeably in conversations, suggesting that the name change alone may not add much value to the brand. Nonetheless, he acknowledged that if the name change is part of a larger plan with potentially good ideas, it could benefit the company.

The return of TNA Wrestling has generated excitement among wrestling enthusiasts who have followed the promotion over the years. It will be interesting to see how the company leverages this rebranding opportunity and what changes they bring to their programming and roster.
