Mark Henry believes the recent AEW World Championship match between MJF and Kenny Omega would have belonged on any pay-per-view.
On last week’s AEW Collision, MJF defended his title against Omega, who was looking to not only win the title but keep the record as the longest-reigning AEW World Champion.
During “Busted Open Radio,” Henry questioned the decision to have the match take place on Collision rather than at a pay-per-view. He said,
“There’s no way that should have been free. I would have charged everybody to see that [laughs]. That’s a dream match. It had pay-per-view written all over it — unbelievable from beginning to end, and somebody like a Kenny Omega almost deserves the pay-per-view platform. Maxwell, as good as he is, I even see there’s room for improvement — he’s going to be so much better in the next two to three years. His psychology is tremendous, and his ability to captivate the audiences and pull people in … for a young guy, he’s beyond his years. Absolutely incredible.”
MJF will break the record for the longest-reigning AEW World Champion later this week. His next title defense will come against Jay White at AEW Full Gear on November 18.

Mark Henry, a former professional wrestler and current analyst, has expressed his belief that the recent AEW World Championship match between MJF and Kenny Omega should have been featured on a pay-per-view event. The match took place on AEW Collision, a weekly television show, where MJF defended his title against Omega, who aimed to not only win the championship but also maintain his record as the longest-reigning AEW World Champion.
During an episode of “Busted Open Radio,” Henry questioned the decision to have such a high-profile match on a regular TV show instead of a pay-per-view. He stated, “There’s no way that should have been free. I would have charged everybody to see that. That’s a dream match. It had pay-per-view written all over it — unbelievable from beginning to end, and somebody like a Kenny Omega almost deserves the pay-per-view platform.”
Henry praised both MJF and Omega for their performances in the match. He acknowledged MJF’s potential for improvement and commended his psychology and ability to captivate audiences despite his young age. Henry believes that MJF will continue to grow and become even better in the next few years.
The match between MJF and Omega was highly anticipated by wrestling fans due to the talent and popularity of both competitors. However, it aired on a regular episode of AEW Collision, which is available for free to viewers. Typically, matches of this caliber are reserved for pay-per-view events, which fans have to purchase to watch.
MJF is set to break the record for the longest-reigning AEW World Champion in an upcoming title defense against Jay White at AEW Full Gear on November 18. This match will be featured on a pay-per-view event, providing fans with the opportunity to witness a high-stakes championship bout.
