Rob Van Dam was thrilled to be part of a tag team with Rey Mysterio, who he believes is one of the “best dudes” he’s ever met.

During his “1 Of A Kind” podcast, Van Dam spoke about working with his fellow WWE Hall of Famer. He said,

“I loved teaming with Rey Mysterio. I had fun being his partner. For some reason, I don’t know what it is, but I automatically kind of feel like a big brother when I’m with him. … I like talking to him, trying to make him laugh during the whole match.

“He’s one of the best dudes I can remember ever meeting. Just his energy, everything about him is just good energy. I can’t imagine anybody knowing him and saying something different.”

Mysterio and RVD would capture the WWE Tag Team Championships in December 2004 by defeating the duo of Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree.

The pair’s 35-day reign would end on the January 11, 2005 SmackDown at the hands of the Basham Brothers.
