Corey Graves caught a lot of attention with a comment during this week’s SmackDown which fans believed was a nod to the potential return of CM Punk.
During SmackDown, a promotional graphic for Fastlane’s Seth Rollins Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match played and Graves said,
“The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world forget that he existed.”
Many fans have taken this as a nod to Punk’s return as the former WWE & AEW World Champion used a similar line during a Ring of Honor promo.
Taking to Twitter, Graves reminded fans that this line is also from 1995’s ‘The Usual Suspects’ a film the SmackDown commentator thinks fans should watch.
You guys should really see The Usual Suspects.

Fans have spotted other ‘clues’ that Punk is returning, including Seth Rollins describing himself as the ‘Best in the World’ during a recent promo.
Punk said in September that he is free for the next two months, which some have taken as a sign of a WWE return this November at Survivor Series in Punk’s native Chicago.

Is CM Punk Making a WWE Return?
Corey Graves, a commentator on SmackDown, recently made a comment that has sparked rumors of CM Punk’s potential return to the WWE. During a promotional graphic for the Seth Rollins Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match at Fastlane, Graves said, “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making the world forget that he existed.” Many fans immediately connected this line to Punk, as he used a similar phrase during a Ring of Honor promo.
However, Graves took to Twitter to clarify that the line is actually from the 1995 film ‘The Usual Suspects’ and suggested that fans should watch it. This led some to believe that Graves was simply referencing the movie and not hinting at Punk’s return.
Despite this clarification, fans have continued to spot other potential clues that suggest Punk may be returning. For instance, Seth Rollins recently described himself as the “Best in the World” during a promo, a title that Punk famously claimed during his time in WWE. Additionally, Punk stated in September that he is free for the next two months, leading some to speculate that he may make a WWE comeback at Survivor Series in November, which will be held in his hometown of Chicago.
While these clues have generated excitement among fans, it is important to approach them with caution. WWE is known for using subtle hints and teases to create buzz and generate speculation among its fanbase. However, until there is an official announcement or confirmation from CM Punk or WWE, these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
