Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens are happy but somewhat disappointed that Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes will challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at Fastlane.
On RAW, it was confirmed that Uso and Rhodes will face Damian Priest and Finn Balor at this weekend’s Premium Live Event in the faces first title opportunity.
After RAW, Zayn and Owens, the former champions, were asked for their reaction to the match. Zayn said,
“Yeah, mixed emotions there, Byron [Saxton]. Really, for me, anyway. I’m happy for Jey Uso, I genuinely am, and for Cody Rhodes. Those guys are my friends, I want the best for them. But I can’t help but feel those are our championships. And, yes, Judgment Day cheated to beat us for those championships. Yes, they cheated in the rematch, but at the end of the day, it feels like now we’re being kicked to the back of the line, and that’s not a great feeling. While I’m happy for those guys, it’s hard to be happy about the whole situation. So, for me, it’s mixed emotions.”
Owens had a much different reaction to his tag-team partner. He said,
“I don’t have mixed emotions at all. I couldn’t care less. I don’t care who the champions are. Look, all I care about is that whoever walks out of Fastlane as tag team champions, whether it’s Judgment Day or Cody and Jey, they should expect us real soon.”
Owens and Zayn captured the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships from The Usos at WrestleMania 39 and lost the gold to Priest and Balor at WWE Payback last month.

Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens React to Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes’ Title Opportunity
In the world of professional wrestling, tag team championships hold a special place. The Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles have been a coveted prize for many teams, and the current champions, Damian Priest and Finn Balor, are set to defend their titles against Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes at Fastlane. This announcement has garnered mixed reactions from former champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
Zayn and Owens, who previously held the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships, expressed their happiness for Uso and Rhodes but also their disappointment in being pushed to the back of the line. Zayn stated, “I’m happy for Jey Uso, I genuinely am, and for Cody Rhodes. Those guys are my friends, I want the best for them. But I can’t help but feel those are our championships.”
The former champions have a valid reason to feel this way. They were defeated by Judgment Day at WrestleMania 39 but were able to regain the titles in a rematch. However, they ultimately lost the gold to Priest and Balor at WWE Payback last month. Despite feeling cheated in their previous matches, Zayn acknowledges that the situation is not ideal for them.
On the other hand, Owens had a different perspective on the matter. He stated, “I don’t have mixed emotions at all. I couldn’t care less. I don’t care who the champions are.” Owens seems determined to regain the titles regardless of who holds them, emphasizing that Uso and Rhodes should expect a challenge from them in the near future.
The rivalry between these teams adds an exciting dynamic to the tag team division. With Zayn and Owens’ desire to reclaim their titles and Uso and Rhodes’ hunger for championship glory, fans can expect intense matches and compelling storylines in the coming weeks.
