More Information About CM Punk’s AEW Release Has Yet to Come Out

AEW released CM Punk after he and Jack Perry had been suspended for their behavior at the AEW All In 2023 pay-per-view event as they had a physical altercation. 

AEW did investigate the situation, leading to it being recommended to Tony Khan that he fire Punk, which happened on Saturday. 

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there’s more to Punk’s AEW release than what has been reported. However, Meltzer stated that it’s nothing as significant as what has already been known.

Sports Illustrated reports that sources close to both sides expect a response from Punk after announcing his release, which could potentially be explosive.
