Tyrus’ in-ring career may be over, but the former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion isn’t done with Billy Corgan’s promotion just yet.
At the NWA 75 pay-per-view event, Tyrus lost the championship to EC3 and as per the stipulation of the match, was forced to retire from wrestling.
Speaking on FOX News, Tyrus confirmed that he intends to keep working with the NWA despite his in-ring retirement. He said,
“I’ll always be a part of the NWA. Billy Corgan is a tremendous promoter and owner. I’m still going to be a part that maybe helps some of the young guys, maybe steal a page out of you and the great Jim Brown doing a little commentating.”
NWA President Billy Corgan has consistently refuted the claim that Tyrus’ role with FOX played any role in pushing the former WWE Superstar as the NWA’s top champion.
