Rey Mysterio Retains US Title Against Austin Theory At WWE Payback 2023

During Saturday night’s WWE Payback 2023 pay-per-view event, Rey Mysterio defeated Austin Theory to retain the WWE United States Championship.

Mysterio moved rather slowly during his entrance, with almost no energy, and seemed a bit off throughout the match.

Theory tried to unmask Rey, but Mr. 619 fought back and escaped.

The finish saw Rey counter Theory into a pinning combination for the pin to win and retain the United States Title.
